Seth is a 17-year-old high school junior from the city who suddenly finds himself in Ravenbrook, a small town in the middle of nowhere where his parents grew up. Seth has dark auburn hair and hazel brown eyes. He is also a short king that is equal parts "over it" and "in way too deep" - stuck between avoiding drama and being the accidental main character of it. Follow Seth as he discovers hidden aspects of his family that derail and reshape his identity while navigating first love and a complex destiny.

Alice is a 35-year-old single mom who left Ravenbrook when she was still pregnant with Seth - and she never looked back! Now, 17 years later, the death of her mother forces her to move back to Ravenbrook with Seth to take care of the Bennett house. She has, however, been keeping secrets from Seth for his own protection. Including most details about who his father was and what the Prescott family are capable of... all of which is about to be exposed.

Son of James and Moira Prescott, brother of Robert, boyfriend of Alice Bennett and father of Seth Bennett. Was destined to be the next leader of the Prescott coven but died in a mysterious and tragic accident when he was a mere 18 years old.

She's just a cat. What is a familiar anyway? Likes includes catnip, tuna, and playing with her mouse toys. Dislikes includes closed doors, off-key singing, and boys who break Seth's heart. 

Clay is an 18-year-old, high school dropout from the bad part of Ravenbrook, known as Hicks. He is Native American and from the Houma tribe. He works at one of the two local gas stations and fixes up cars as a side hustle. He has a great sense of humour and a heart of gold but tends to hang with the wrong crowd and that gets him into trouble. He can usually be spotted wearing some kind of flannel, ripped jeans, and smoking a cigarette. Why does Seth always fall for the bad boys?

Lacy is a high school junior with Seth who meets him when she is assigned his student chaperone for the first day of school... and they have been inseparable since! She is half Romani and half Latina. She is popular by virtue of the excessive number of extracurricular activities she participates in, mostly just to pad her resume for college applications. She is very much an introverted extrovert who has her heart set on an ivy league education to escape Ravenbrook some day.

Heather and Hannah Prescott, also known as the Prescott twins, are 16-year-old sophomores at Ravenbrook Academy. They are the daughters of Robert and Cecile Prescott and cousins to Seth Bennett. They have strawberry blonde hair and the same hazel brown eyes as Seth. Although only sophomores, they pretty much rule the school (and its social calendar) as the co-captains of the cheer squad. Hannah is dating Alex, the hottest guy in school and a "Carmichael" - old family friends of the Prescotts. Their lives seemed perfect... until Seth shows up in Ravenbrook. Does he know who they are? more importantly does he know *what* they are? and is he one too? what does it all mean for their future place in the coven?

Hannah: Straight (She/Her) 

Alex Carmichael is a 17-year-old junior at Ravenbrook Academy alongside Seth and Lacy. He is captain of the football team... or whatever. He also happens to be dating Hannah Prescott. He has curly blonde hair, blue eyes, and the general appearance of your average underwear model (according to Seth). While he will most probably coast through life on those good looks, don't let it fool you into thinking this guy lacks ambition. He wants what the Prescotts have, and he'll take it any way he can.

Moira (née Whitmore) is the matriarch of the Prescott family. She was married to James Prescott at the age of 22, and is the mother of Frederic and Robert Prescott. She was never very subtle about it... Freddy was her favourite. After his untimely death at the age of 18, she hasn't quite been the same. At present she spends most of her time keeping the Prescott twins in check - which is no small feat - and worrying if they will ever be ready to take over as leaders of the coven when the time comes. That is, until she discovers she has another grandson via her precious Freddy. She sees a lot of Freddy in Seth... and she will do whatever it takes to make sure he does not suffer the same fate as his father.

Husband of Moira, and father to Frederic and Robert. Passed away many years ago leaving the leadership of the coven to Robert. Just another relative Seth will never meet... right?

Robert Prescott is the younger son of James and Moira Prescott. His older brother was Frederic Prescott. After the death of Freddy, Rob mastered the four elements and passed the elder trials to become the next leader of the Prescott coven. He was married to Cecile Prescott, with whom he had his twin daughters Heather and Hannah, but has been divorced for many years now. Robert is the epitome of old school Prescotts... completely absorbed by the desire for power and control... and the quintessential small town partiarch. The kind of man who walks into a room and leaves a chill behind him. Powerful, polished, but deeply unsettling. Will he welcome Seth into the coven? will Seth be just another obstacle he needs to "take care of"? what will the future hold for the Prescott coven?

Cecile Prescott (née Epstein) was married to Robert Prescott for 10 years. She is the mother of Heather and Hannah Prescott. When the twins were 8 years old, 8 years ago, she divorced their father and left Ravenbrook. She has since moved to Paris where she works in a museum. The twins spend most of their summer vacations with their mother in Paris.

Jane Bennett (née Cohan) was the only other living relative that Seth even knew he had. She would visit them in the city every summer and stayed in contact with weekly phone calls. When she passes away, Seth and Alice are forced to return to Ravenbrook to take care of the funeral and the the Bennett house. Her life, however, wasn't as cut-and-paste straight forward as one might believe. Everyone knows the Prescott family has their secrets, but the Bennett's have a few of their own.

Miss Potts, also known as Angela or Angie, is the secretary at Ravenbrook Academy. She wears horn-rimmed glasses, two shades of eye shadow, and bright pink lipstick. She looks like she may have been working here since before Seth's parents even went to school there and has a sense of style that echoes the 1980's. Her warm smile and tender voice instantly calms angsty teens, which makes her perfect for her job!

Mr Talbot is the French teacher at Ravenbrook Academy. He took over when the previous teacher retired 4 years ago. As an outsider and new arrivée in town he can sense there is something strange about Ravenbrook but he can't quite put his finger on it!

Tanner is a 20-year-old trouble maker who also lives in Hicks, just outside of Ravenbrook. He is also part Native American, from the same tribe (Houma) as Clay. He is a chain smoker and vaguely smells like alcohol. He knowns Clay from growing up in the same neighborhood, but Seth gets the sense that there is more to their past than Clay is willing to admit.

Nikolai Boswell is the Romani guy whose family lives next to Lacy in Sycamore lane.
